This one got caught with the Executioner. It did not get blasted to bits like some. It’s a bit big for your ordinary Mossie so wondering if it was one of the tiger versions. This little blighter was out and about during the day. It certainly had a helping of someone’s blood no idea who’s though.

i have a mate who lives alicante way we were in portugal while the storm was lashing that area he has since gone home and reports pesky mossies everywhere another report from san paulo is of mossies the size of sparrows & bites an inch wide
apparently once they’ve laid their eggs after drawing blood the eggs can lay dormant for several weeks until activated by water

I have a friend who lives Alicante way too and she said that recent heavy rains had brought out an enormous amount of these "tiger mossies" - Sounds like a complete pain in the butt !!

Hmmm. Worrying, they have already brought outbreaks of malaria to southern France and Paris.
