BIGGER WHEELS/ TYRES.

Thanks for the info. Now I need a recommendation for something a bit more local to York if anyone has one.

What does it cost to get a garage to fit it - with or without discount? Ours is a Bailey with an alko chassis.

AlKo chassis fitment is more complex because it's torsion bar suspension.

Airride kits are most often used with leaf spring suspension. Their website says that there is a kit for AlKo but only for a twin axle configuration.

Hi, the ALKO chassis fitting is not a straight forward job and takes most of the day so the price is a lot higher, mine was £1,500

My motorhome ( thank you Compass / Elddis ) sat lower on one side due to all the furniture being down one side so i need the pressures to be more on that side to level it up as well.

I had mine done at AS Air Suspension, Warrington and was the kit that it shows in the second image on the home page.

You raise and lower it from the cab seat, each side is independant so you can also level the motorhome to a certain degree.

They will take you to Bank Quay train station so you can nip to Warrington, Liverpool or Manchester for the day and they ring you when it's ready and will pick you back up from the train station..

If you want Phil ( owner ) will take you down the pit and show /explain to you all the work that has been done.

Not cheap but well worth it IMHO.

Note :-

If you go the bridge you can see on Bellhouse Lane is a lot taller than it first looks, big dip in the road and double decker buses get under it fine.

Scared the shyte out of me first time i went as i had not been warned  o_O

Hi, thanks very much for the detailed information - very useful. I think we probably will go for it and make it into a short trip over the Pennines! And thanks for the warning about the bridge - nasty moments those!
