Benimar 6000ST... THE NEXT STEP ON THE MOTORHOME LADDER

Hi,

This is my third season as a MH'er, and wish I done it years ago. So not wasting my time to work my way up to the Rolls Royce of Motorhomes...whatever that may be?
I have my eye on a Benimar 6000ST 1998 72,000 on the clock. 2.8TDi engine with a layout that ticks the boxes.

My questions to the collective are:

Benimar 6000ST. Good, Bad, Indifferent. Appreciate is can be subjective, but like to know what you think\heard.

Cost. Its a wheeler dealer who wants 20k but its very tidy inside and been well looked after. Thinking 20k for a 12 year van, is it good value?

Mileage. Currently got a 20 year old van with 49k so bit weary of a 12 year with 72k. Not exactly high mileage for a MH. Also suggest is been used regularly...can be good...could be bad!?!?

hi there,
we were intererested in a van like this because of the layout (u shaped dining areaat the back)
the only ones we found were x rental 2006 modles with between 36 & 52k mls
but all were in good nic.
prices were between 19& 23k sterling

they were all aprox 10hr drive from us whitch is to far if it was a dud to travel for us.

I am the proud owner of a Bennimar orian so much smaller than yours however just on the make we are absolutely delighted with our little gem it is a left hand drive so we got the bargain of the century for a 2001 model very cheap when we now look around but i have seen yours for sale and the prices are around what you said however for the milage i think some deal could be done here hold out for cheaper..... but as for the make we are pleased.

i no nowt bout the van your on about but as for mileage thats nowt! i have a 2002 convoy with 160k on the clock and she had an hard life previous to me:( heavy cargo etc all on a 2.5di engine and still going strong:) first thing i did was give her a full service inc new cambelt etc has there was no history, but i bought at a good price:)

i f the vans in good nick, comes with an up to date service book recently had a cambelt change:) and knocks 2k off for cash go for it!!!!!

i would also look up any known faults /recalls with this particular chassis/body manufacturer and check they were sorted:)

good luck with whatever you choose ;)
