Hi

We are thinking about having a week in/near Benidorm next February. I've been threatening it for a while and Mrs G has relented.

I now that some folks on here visit regularly so will have their favourites but I am also interested in sites definitely NOT to go to.

Our motorhome is 8.5m long so I'd also like to know about the internal roads inside the campsites if you could please. In our experience it's not always the pitch that is too small but the inner roads, when you are in a larger unit.

Thanks all

We have used Villasol, Villamar and el Raco and have a similar van length.

We prefer Villasol as it is closest to the strip and beach. As long as you instruct on the booking form your van length they will normally allocate you a suitable pitch with easy access. If you go for the older pitches which do not have their own water tap and are slightly cheaper then you definitely will not have a manouvering issue whichever pitch you are offered. We always go for these if available. However having the updated pitch with water tap makes it easier to fill up and drain as you do not need to go the the service point or use communal taps and drains.

We we would not recommend el Raco which is nearly all seasonal residents who completly fill and fence off pitches which makes manouvering onto a pitch difficult and avenues are narrow.

Villamar similar situation however avenues are wider so manouvering a bit easier however plots do have tree obstructions which can reduce available pitch length so you may have to park diagonally.

A tip:- We always use google earth to assess pitch and entry access when planning campsite, aire and park ups, and also read reviews offered if available. Not really an issue with vans 7.5m or less which all seem to accomodate however when its an 8.5m longer wheelbase job it can be an issue.
