Just back tonight, what a fantstic location! I'd pay £15/night for this one.... mountains, space, seclusion, location! If youre out in Snowdonia dont mess about with the layby locations, come here! But follow the lane down to the site, dont park at the top like some muppet did in a Westafalia, right next to a "Dim Parcio" sign!:heart:

doesnt that have a height restriction?

the car park on the Caernarfon road has height barriers but the one at the other side of the village, i.e. the Porthmadog side has'nt as buses park there, hope this is helpful.

Are there any restrictions on overnight parking/camping etc?

No, its not the same one, no pay and display here. I'm guessing its on the same road but just over a mile north of Beddgelert

I'd pay £15/night for this one

I am confused did it cost £15 to stay the night
Is this a good place to leave MH to walk up Snowdon?? (never been)
thanks

No! Sorry to have confused! I have never paid for a site, I'm only guessing £15 is the going rate for a nice site! It's absolutely free, absolutely without restriction and absolutely beautiful!

As for climbing Snowdon we did the hardest but shortest route, Watkin Path. We parked at the Watkin Path carpark 4 miles the other side of Beddgelert at 53° 2'8.82"N 4° 2'51.94"W. There was a motorhome there that had been there 2 nights but it is a pay and display carpark (max. stay 4hrs, interesting as the route takes 6hrs!). Personally I'd rather be out of the way overnighting then no-one has reason to gripe.

it will take me a good part of a day to do the walk to top of Snowdon and back My plan is to arrive night before Up early do the walk and stay for another night and leave next day Any where suitable to park for yjis schedule (dont' mind paying if I can start the walk where MH is parked)
