Beach parking

Hello,

Not exactly wild camping but we will hopefully be staying on a site in france on a beach front pitch in June. Has anyone got any tips to avoid getting stuck in the sand!!!Are there any essentials we should purchase before we go.

Thanks

towrope and a winsome smile will usually get you out of the sand.no need to learn the lingo, just hold the rope in one hand, point to your predicament with the other and flash that smile! robert est ton oncle!

With the wind blasting in from the ocean. Keep something between you and the sea or you might come home with a bright silver coloured motorhome. To be serious I would really try and stay off the beach. The wind does whip up the sand across the huge beaches they have. At times we have found it difficult to walk allong the seafront in northern France. Sorry to be negative but forwarned and all that.

I have the bottoms of bread crates, they are a little sturdier, and dig into the sand, so you have a better platform.

Fantastic advice,

Its the med we will be on (not in hopefully). I will definitely invest in those grip mats then, we are twin rear wheel drive so hopefully that will help and also on the second row so hopefully sandblasting will be low.

We are a little apprehension or I am! I'm not too sure how much I will like sand getting everywhere but you have to try these things.... if it all goes wrong there are plenty of aires.

edited.. My snow shovel is folding...maybe it will come in useful this year after all!!

I,m sure the med beaches will be much more motorhome friendly than the west coast. Most sites have a means of sorting out any common problems so I am sure if you do get bogged down, they will pull you out.
