Bawdsey Quay, Suffolk.
Interesting experience.
While rubbish collecting around the area where I was parked and the adjacent beach one of the locals approached and asked what I was doing ! I explained it was my good deed for the day and that I was trying to improve the reputation of wildcampers. He smiled, thanked me and said that they had recently had problems with MH parking for days on end in front of houses, playing loud music, dumping all sorts of rubbish ... He seemed to think that some of the problem was caused by folks pushed out of Aldeburgh and understandbly he and others were concerned that they would become inundated with MH.
The car park about 1/4 mile before the quay with a 2.3m height restriction has a very definite (and smart) no parking overnight sign. The quay (as far as I could see) has no such sign although it is overlooked by private housing and perhaps understandably overnighting there is frowned upon.
Solution. As you pass the car park (no parking overnight) the road sweeps to the left and immediately on the right hand side there is a small layby perhaps large enough for two vans. On one side you have small wooded area (with toilets) and on the other the estuary - lovely views. No traffic during the night and only occasional vehicle during the day. An ideal spot !
The local with whom I had the brief chat was more than happy with me stopping there so I would guess that the occasional MH staying for one night would be welcome - especially if you collect rubbish !
