Spent two nights in Dunbar CCC site last Thursday and Friday.
We did our usual walk to Skateraw were the nuclear power station is via Barns Ness lighthouse. The seas were spectacularly wild along the whole coastline. Yet we were almost all alone throughout the whole walk. We used to wild camp by the shore until East Lothian put a stop to that.

Use to launch my boat at Skateraw to dive the wreck of the…can’t recall name, about one mile north of the station. Two well broken up wrecks near to the lighthouse too, hence the light of course!! A nice part of our country 👍

You see a lot of people with small dinghies and outboards heading out fishing in summer from Skateraw Terry. Sadly all of the carparks in this area have barriers. But if they not could have ventured out last Thursday or Friday with the waves,

Bill, Skateraw is fine to launch at high water, a mare to recover at low water.

A real bummer when the hight barrier was installed halfway down the single track road, which does not stop the party animals taking the place over. The bungalow looking over the bay can’t have it easy during the summer.

That house is now lying empty, the tenants doing a moonlight.
It’s owned by the power station, we were chatting to their environmental officer when there.
East Lothian Council regularly send out traffic wardens to Whitesands and other carparks in the area, really sad.
