[/URL]a pic of les and mos van spent sat and sun night at matlock bath dont know if anyone knows les and mo or have ever met them but they sent 14 nights on the car park they send there love to all according to form they log in some times to wild camping ps this is there van

its a bedford ca 1967 chassis but the body was made as a laundry van there were only two made in london and this one was saved from the scrap yard many years ago so it is the only one about there is a real story about it according to les he told me about it

Looks very nice indeed Mandrake, not a pat of the country I know, and one I look forward to visiting, I will be after some pointers. :)

lovely pickies of a great part of the world.

The laundry van; would I be right in saying this is parked in Matlock carpark. I'm sure I saw it a couple of years ago when we went to the venetian nights.?
 
Did similar run mandrake must have been just in front of you ,stopped fri night at monsall edge then sat morn bakewell,they had a gymkana on then on to matlock bath and cromford in afternoon back to buxton for high edge raceway sat night then stopped edale/castleton then ladybower on way home sunday afternoon .also have similar pics to you.

yes you are correct les and mo have been going there years they will be there again this year they say

wish we could have met up,would have been nice. dont know whether you noticed a distinct lack of vans on the roads last weekend ? considering it was a nice one.

heyfield will be great as it is only the other side of glossop i believe, only fly in the ointment is that my wife works in a care home on 12 hour nights, and it looks as if she will be on duty that weekend. i suppose i could always nip over for the day to meet up with you all .
 
revived this old post as it showes the top car park at matlock bath i would have just copied the pics but i dont seem to know how it also showes les and mo,s van, i dont know if they still run the van now as they were getting on a bit ,but if anybody sees it i would love to know if they are still about .the van is only one of a kind and i know its history it is a facinating tale worth remembering

thank you but if i was honest (which i always am) i had a poor mask on ;)

They were still about in September 2010, but the old Labarador dog was really struggling to get about.

thanks for letting me know, i know mo was not too well last time we saw them which was the day i took the picture , les was fine but i dident think the old lab would be arround i dont know if you spoke to him but he tells a good story about the van ,in fact he told me he had been offered quite a bit for it
 
i never saw them at all last year i thought they must have packed in :confused: i asked about them but no one knew anything
