Back from camp out.

Have just got back from our weekend camp out at one of our "spots" we use over here. Went on Friday evening after work so have had two evenings sitting by a fire-pit drinking and swopping tales. We met our friends there who have a VW type 2 camper. The place we usually park up is quite open to the wind so we decided to find somewhere a bit sheltered (the area is a large sand and grassy spot that is a little walk down to the beach,) so our mates found a nice area in a dip in the "dunes" and we set up camp there. By Saturday evening there was 7 vans scattered about and its also a popular place for people walking dogs and generally walking. So when we decided to return home earlier on I managed to get the MH stuck in the sand , and the more I tried to get out the deeper the front wheels buried themselves in the sand. But lucky enough we had our Terrano with us (The wife had to drop the nipper back home on Saturday for a birthday party) so we found a piece of rope and and doubled it up and managed to pull the MH out. It was my own fault for thinking I could build up enough speed to drive through a "sandy patch" So I suppose most of you would have known this but as for a novice large MH owner like myself it might be worth remembering this. And always carry a tow-rope in your kit;)
