avtex w102d need remote can't find 1

The manual is here if you read through it you might be able to tune it with buttons on the TV, failing that other Avtex remotes are available and might work but I would get a Universal remote control where you can put Avtex codes in if the original is not available

I have an Avtex. Have you tried a 'Factory Restore' and then tried the control panel?
