The place I put my 12v tv for watching is about 10 ft from my cigarette lighter point on the dash. Can any one point me in the direction of where to get a longer wire as the one with the tv is only about 2ft
And on a second related point, I have a Hymer which in the tv cupboard had a 3 pin plug which I take it is live on hook up but next to it is a small round socket like the cigarette one but much thinner and has 12v written on it. Does this one work off the battery or does it some how work on hook up too. There is another of these sockets in the bathroom too

And the final question, would this socket in the bathroom and tv cupboard work from the battery the same as the cigarette lighter socket does

I bought the Cliff Top Hella recently, suggested earlier in the thread by Garth, and although expensive, it is much better than any of the alternatives I have bought.

Great. I may try one of the converters first as it will save having long wires trailing. I'll order one now from the kindly supplied links

Simple thing to do is remove the silly old small 12v socket and fit one of these which will also give you usb to charge phones up or use a usb fan/laptop chrger etc.

Thanks for the help everyone. Having now looked at some of the hella plugs and seen what they look like I looked more closely at the plug on the TV lead and I've noticed there is a red cap you pull off which then reveals a hella type plug. Having said that the plug is still about a foot too far for the lead to reach. So back to finding a longer lead from maplin
