Traffic warning !
In Antwerp (Belgium) on sunday april 25 the 10 miles & marathon is on.
The whole centre of Antwerp (inside the ring) will be very difficult for motorised traffic. You should use public transport to reach the centre.
All P+R parkings will be full.
Moreover the tunnels under the Scheldt wil be closed at some time that day.
The Kennedy-tunnel (E17 from Ghent > Antwerp) will be closed from 13 pm to 17,30. The Waasland-tunnel (E34 from Zeebrugge > Antwerp) from 9 am > 11 am and 14 pm > 19 pm. The Bolivar tunnel ( southern entrance of the centre) closed from 12 > 17,30.
The Liefkeshoek tunnel (from the E34 north to the harbour and Netherlands) remains open. But this a toll-tunnel ! Everything higher than 2,5 m pay 18 €
IOW: gigantic queus to be expected on all aproaches from the west > Antwerp; and consequently more dense traffic on the E19 from Brussels, and the motorway ring around Antwerp
You should avoid to travel from Ghent over Antwerp north towards the Netherlands and east over Antwerp towards Germany. :(
Or better forget it

ok

Thanks leo- I'm heading the Scheldt Quai and the new (floating) Lipstick Club....:p. but I don't reckon on being there quite as early as 25th -still somewhere in UK but back soon enough after that!
