Twice in the last 18 months we have discovered another joy to living on the coast.

Sea gulls falling down the chimney. 6 foot of irate blackened seagull is not the easiest to extract from behind a sealed gas fire, and the last time it happened madam used language that I have not heard from her since she left the brownies.

Luckily today’s guest was a baby one which had managed somehow to get between the mesh I put up.

On both occasions they flew off from the back garden seemingly unharmed.

Saved you paying for a chimney sweep Dexy.

Although you probably grab a passing urchin and force him up there at Rapier point. :D

Ah its nice to see that I am not the only one who gets nostalgic for the good old days.

why not just remake the coal fire and cremate them, also handy for recycling old waste, plastic bottles, tattie peelings and anything else that burns.:ninja:

We have a wood burning stove in our home and on coming home from a week away we were greeted with every room with sooty marks all over the walls and all our walls are white, what had happened was that a Jackdaw had come down the chimney out of the wood burning stove through the open doors and flew all around the Bungalow trying to find a way out , it had S@@@ every where as well, we found it dead on top of a cupboard as it could not get water, unfortunately for it the toilet lids where all down so no water to drink anywhere,We make sure that the doors on the stove are closed when we go away now.:lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:This was before Burglar Alarms day.
