Hi the website is
Forestry Commission - Westonbirt - The National Arboretum

Also not so far away is the Forest Of Dean
Forest of Dean Tourist Information Official Site

We live between the 2 in Gloucester and are spoilt for choice at this time of year. Westonbirt is fantastic but costs a lot for entry.

The entire forest of dean is free to visit and unofficially turns a blind eye to people parking up for the night. In another thread someone mentioned they will lock you in the carparks if you are there after 7.30pm. We have not done this but I have parked off in a couple of forestry roads in the past.

If you are unsure there are a few CC&C CL's in the forest and a couple of larger sites. Well worth a visit this time of year. Loads of cycle tracks and walking. Yes I love the place :)

Although very nice, IMHO Westonbirt is expensive and I don't think they will let you stay.

Try The Royal Forest of Dean. Lovely area and plenty of parking places.

Try here, your not supposed to overnight but we have had no problems, the wardens are good local boys and will just tell you the barrier will be locked until 0900! Great nature trail too.

.

been to both.. westonbirt has greater diversity and a wider range of colours/effects but you pay for the privilege ;)
btw...Charlie Royal has a place not tooooo far away you could always ask him for a driveway park-up for the night

FOD not as spectacular and tree variety is limited by comparison ...
never the less, still worth a visit at any time of the year...and it's free

then there's batsford arboretum... somewhere in the middle...
(googleit)

these 2 shots are from westonbirt last year....
