We've upgraded to a slightly newer Amethyst so our 1990 Auto Sleeper Talisman on a Talbot Express petrol base (our first van) is looking for a new home. We've had a several wonderful trips away in the past 12 months including a lovely two week journey to Land's End and back mostly wild camping. The van has all the usual 1990 Auto Sleeper mod cons including
The interior is configurable to a large double bed or two singles and has flexible arrangements for day-time seating and travel. Both front seats swivel and the two tables can be set up in different places. You can also create two seats with lap strap seat belts if you need to carry passengers. There is masses of storage including a huge over-cab cupboard, a wardrobe, kitchen space and overhead lockers plus stowage beneath the cab seats and room in the external gas locker for hook-up cable, etc. The van comes with a drive-away awning which we haven't used so can't tell you much about it.
Mechanically, the van has been completely reliable. We've had a small amount of welding done for the MOT which runs to early November 2019 plus some steering swivels and the previous owner had a new clutch fitted less than 2,000 miles back: there are five good tyres. There is no cam-belt which is nice! We've also attended to some very small niggles such as getting a flappy wing mirror sorted out, and some minor exhaust work but the van really hasn't needed much attention and is ready for its next adventure.
