My shower tap leaks, and I've got the cap off to change the cartridge, but can't undo the retaining nut. Please see photo's. Has anyone had this issue and found a way to sort it? Do you need a special tool, and can the cassette be replaced easily? Where do you get a new cassette? Many thanks.

Lots of videos about fixing caravan shower leaks in YT. Might be one that gives the answer.

Good Luck

There are loads of different types of cartridge so IF you manage to get it out you'll then have all the fun of finding the correct part. May be easiest to simply fit a new tap. If the current tap uses an inbuilt microswitch (2 wires coming off the back of the tap) then you'll need to source another one like it from say a caravan store or online. If you have a pressurised system without the microswitches then you can fit any tap you like, loads on ebay for £15 upward.

Many thanks all. I got the job done, the main problem was that the nut was recessed in to the housing, so normal wrenches and plyers didn't work, so I made up a tool that fitted and got the cassette from Screwfix.
