Got a Fiat based automatic A Class 140. 2020. Does anyone know if and when transmission fluid needs changing? No mention in my manual, and local garage doesn’t know…and won’t touch autoboxes anyway.

Is it the 9 speed auto, or is it Comfortmatic?

I've seen two conflicting figures for these, one is 60,000miles, other is 100,000miles.

Yes, that’s my problem. 30k to 90k or at 4 to 6 years according to some. Filled for life say others. Ours has done 40k and is 5 years old, hence my question. I haven’t found a clear recommendation by Fiat.

ZF who make the gearbox seem to recommend 100,000 miles in 'normal' conditions, and 60,000 miles in 'harsh' conditions, the low mileages done by motorhomes would more likely fall under 'harsh' conditions, so I'd be changing it at 60,000miles.

I would check with Fiat, all the proper auto's I have had have never needed anything doing with transmission fluid except if I fitted an extra oil cooler then it needed extra. They have all been filled for life. That's torque converter type boxes not robotic
