Attempted theft?

Been pootling around Wales, second day in noticed the top hinge of hab door separated in it's two parts as in pic.
Either someone took out the top hinge having undone the grub screw, then reinserted the pin.

Attempted theft or is it possible the pin could have vibrated upwards despite the grub screw being very tight?

I cleaned the MH prior to leaving and the hinge was definitely ok then.

The grub screw may have felt tight but might not have been actually
contacting the pin perhaps due to thread corrosion. But even so how the
pin could have risen up enough for the hinge to detach and then drop
down takes a bit of a stretch of the imagination. Tea leaf I'd guess.

Presumably the door is hung on one & half pair of hinges (3) so at least
you wouldn't have driven off with just the bottom hinge and maybe lose
the door!

Yes, the pin is tight in the cylinder and had to be removed, greased, then knocked down with a hastily bought pair of mole grips. Very puzzling.

Reminds me of the exhausted engineer, apparently he
always went home at lunch time for a grub screw.
