Give us a wave if u see us :D
(sorry no waving smiley on iPhone app)

Off up to Northumberland tomorrow for a few days.

Cannot let this lovely weather go to waste. :drive:

We are also in Manchester and find that travel of about an hour on a friday night after work suits us quite well.
Arnside Prom, Gisburn Forest, Yorkshire Dales, Buxton, Congleton etc.
If we get friday off work and make it a three day weekend then we'll hit the Lake District or push onto Dumfries.

Are there many wilding spots in Gisburn Forest? Ive been looking at it and it looks like our kind of place but my google earth POI's keep crashing and I cant see if there are any places to overnight?
Thanks
Lotty

We'll be in and around Keswick this w/e.
May go up Walla Crag and onto Ashness Bridge if her knee's up to it !

Change of plan, I might go and check out the spot first mentioned as a possible northern meet before Buxworth was agreed, can't remember exact location, but near Arnside I think. I'll need to go back and find the thread unless Canalsman can remind me ;)

Some beach walks and swimming for RTP would be good

edit : found it Milnthorpe, LA7 7HW, UK - Google Maps

That's the one - look forward to your comments, Jess :)

That's the car park of the Ship Inn at Sandside.
I read it on one of the forums that the Landlord is ok with vans overnighting.
Great place for estuary fishing, been there many times.

We stayed on the dead end road nr Portinscale.
Friday night 4 vans, but there was a bit of aggro going on (according to my wife who was earwiggin) between 2 vans behind us. One of them started a genny up at about 8 pm, and it was still running at 11 pm ! Hardly stealth camping, and sure to go against us. Anyway, the other van who was parked behind the genny decided to move to in front of us, then the genny stopped, but his engine started up, then off he went.
In the morning we found that the genny van had silently returned during the night and parked up right behind us.
Don't know if it was anybody on here but it was a 'Firestorm' coachbuilt.
Saturday night 6 vans. We hit the highlights in Keswick (Oddfellows pub, solo singer, pub ram jam packed).
No probs that night, left about 1 pm headed for a rally at Grange.
Had a great long w/e.

regards
Allen & Eileen
