snow

Yesterday was bad, nearly got stuck near J35 M1 on my way back from Doncaster. But managed to get near home and leave car on a side street, which doesn't have houses on it. Therefore it wouldn't upset anyone. Others had the same idea. This morning went to see if it would get me to work and found that 6-8 nearby vehicles had been broken into - side windows smashed. I assume that they were looking for sat navs and laptops. They appear to have targetted new cars.

Today, loads of snow, no gritters and the one plough on a tractor. But went to Worksop and Doncaster. No real snow at either location. The roads around home only got passible late this pm.

Obviously the BBC news states that the south of got it worst!!! And BBC Look Leeds doesn't know where South Yorkshire is most nights.

Just snapped the dog off a tree:eek::D:p

yes we are, britain is at last all white again the most i have seen since 1963

Looks like we escaped the worst of it in the South Midlands, looked a bit dodgy around midday yesterday, but didn't last too long so only ended up with a couple of inches. Bit of sun today and most of it's gone.

We just got back on Monday, after 17 days away! We've been all round the Welsh coast, as near to the sea as possible! Set off back from our sons at Swindon, as there was about 3in of the white stuff, so I decided NOT to go back through the Black Mountains after listening to the BBC! Should have known better and ignored them. It soon cleared up by Gloucester and of course the motorways where clear!
Welcome to all the newbies that I have missed! So, WELCOME ABOARD TO YOU ALL, JIM!!

Hi we are in London, having to stay on a CC site at Abbey wood, the weather is grim, cold and still a great deal of snow in the side roads, I was reading yesterday that it s the worst snow in the capital for 20 years. I must say we were booked in at Crystal palace CC site for a few days, got a call from the warden who advised us the site was closed due to snow ! I cant believe that our country grinds to a halt with a few days of snow.

None over in Norfolk.

We took the camper out today for a run. Plenty of frozen puddles and a few fields had the "snow bones" left.

We had a couple of inches of snow last week, but it soon melted.

we are catching a heavy bit of snow at the moment wonder how long this is gona last

Find the BBC reporting absolutely totally inaccurate with headlines like "The whole of Britain suffers"

Where ???? Had not seen snow up here in the frozen north. Travelled from Fife down to Rowrah over the weekend but although there was plenty of snow on the mountains not an inch on the roads. Travelled back today and met some snow but not enough to even slow us down.

I find it laughable that many parts of England were brought to a standstill with a few inches of snow.

For once the BBC got it right. I was in the Black Mountains today - the roads were treacherous with ice on the snow. Up on Hay Bluff the snow was knee deep in places - great stuff!

Yeah we are also out and "living" through the worst that the weather can throw at us, fortunately I have a place I can park up with wonderful views, and in complete Isolation, It is wonderful. We have been snowed in completely for over a week now, hoping it has thawed enough today for us to get out tomorrow and top up our autogas and diesel, as well as get a little shopping done.
we have loved every minute of it all so far, and we are snug as anything tucked up at night.
We do seem to have a problem with batteries running low, it is difficult due to the amount we have used the heating, lights etc whether this is due to overuse, or just a pair of sick batteries.

Good luck to all you guy's and gals out there :):)

Snow

Nothing much here in "Wings" country (Mull of Kintyre), more jack frost! Had friends up from Glasgow..up Lomondside & over Rest & Be Thankfull & on to Inverary with no problems.
