I have bought a pair of LED running lights
Advertised as "Daytime Running Lights" about 6in (15cm) long.
I plan to attach them with the included brackets to the "Bumper" at the correct distance from the outside of the vehicle.

At the moment I always run with dipped headlights on in the day.

Ridiculously cheap £3.95

I plan to wire these into the sidelight circuit so as to run with sidelights and rear lights and these new running lights.
All advice welcome

Thanks in advance

Yes they are legal, i bought some a while back but found they are not bright enough as DRL`s. In sunshine they are little better than useless.

I went with Ring Aurora BRL0397 DRL`s and they are fantastic.

Fully automatic and when installed correctly they turn off when you turn the sidelights on because they are too bright for use after dark.

I`ve had them on for 8 years now and they are as good today as them day i put them on.

Thanks to all for the replies so far !

I will see how bright they are !

If no good just run on dipped headlights as before !

The comments re connections etc are very helpful

I have no idea the legalities, other than the MOT later this year has alterations in lighting requirements particularly aftermarket, I cant be specific with the changes but perhaps worth checking for clarity

Might depend how bright they are, but ideally DRL's should either dim or turn off when sidelights are turned on.

Yes they must go off when the vehicle lights are switched on.

How durable are the 3.95 lights ? Are they worth the trouble because being on the front of your bus they are going to be very exposed.

If you used them in a garden shed then yes fine give then a go.

think they must be legal or thae van maker wouldnt make fitment to fit the into the bumper unplugged mine as thought iwas driving with my light on at night when i wasnt as they are bright

Durability certainly an issue !

Will need to "gunge up" where the wires go in ..just a simple low quality plastic grommet.

Reading other posts it seems the wiring is not as straightforward as I thought as it seems they have to be turned off

A) Maybe when sidelights are on

B) Certainly when main or dipped beam is on.
We rarely travel when it is dark but headlights Main or dipped are needed
a) to "flash someone"
b) in Tunnels

So a bit more research !
