An app that takes the place of a sat nav that can be added to my i phone with the ability to key in dimensions so I dont get sent down little lanes

Satnav apps that allow you to enter vehicle dimensions won't achieve what you're seeking.
These apps will avoid routing you via roads with highway authority imposed length, height, width or weight restrictions. Narrow lanes frequently do not have any restrictions so you will still have to use your own judgement.

Tomtom mobile is excellent on a smartphone,it has a speed camera warning and live traffic information with re-routing if you want it.As Chris says you will still have to use your own judgement with unsuitable roads.If it tries to take me down a narrow road I just keep going until I find a decent road and the app re-routes quickly.
