hi guys I have a master, and it has had new springs at some point and they are in good condition but they twang and grind when driving. a bit like a ball joint that has gone but worse. there doesn't seem to be a rubber between the top of the spring and the housing, is this right? i cant imagine it is? any info appreciated

What year is the Master? Has the rubber gone where the spring is attached to the spring hanger?

That will probably be your trouble then. The spring is rubbing metal to metal and clanking around in the void.

thought as much, ill have to speak to renault i guess, find out whats supposed to be there! cheers

are we talking about the front coil spring making these noise's while driving ? if we are it could be the leg top bearings that are knackered and seized makeing the leg try to turn on the spring ? a clue to this is when the front end is jacked up the steering is really stiff.
