against the Euro the Pound has dipped another 2 cents to around 1,06, that pretty awful if you're off to Euroland ,

Oh oh oh
But look at the bright side: when Britain should adopt the € at a rate of 1£=1€; you'll have an easy conversion without maths :cool::rolleyes:

great news for us in ireland. we have been robbed long enough when we change our money for sterling. imagine going into the bank with 150 stg & coming out with 100 euro. that was happening us changing irish pounds & then the euro. but we still travelled to england.
long may it last.

Well a few years ago they told us we couldn't join the Euro because it was too low, now we can't join it because it's too high.

Another fudge by Tony Liar and Gordon Brownhatter. Should have listened to Vince Cable.

if this shower of s@:> we have in power at the moment stay much longer, i think the pound will be linked to the zimbabwe dollar not the euro

Money

I reccon one of the reasons not to adept the € was that the queen coudn't have her portait on the €-bills.
It's too late now, but this royal portait will cost you dear !
It are the bancs who gets the benefits of all transactions € > £.
How dear this (ours) site is to me: I'll never allow the bancs a benefit of 25% to make a donation in € to make me a site supporter (how much I long for it):mad::rolleyes:
Admin could send me his personal adress, and I'l send him an €-bill

I've been watching a few different currencies recently and the UK and US are faring very badly - major reason seems to be that the Chinese have been offering gold to buy oil and other raw materials instead of US$. The Chinese have also been rattling the cage that the Yuan is now the strongest currency in the world and should replace the US$ as the world's trading currency - which could make sense considering how much of the world's manufactured goods now come from China.

But keep an eye on China. over the last few years over 50% of the goods we source were coming from China. That is down to 10% so far this year, they are still the cheapest, but poor quality, bad descriptions, non existent principles in business, ect are destroying their trade as been seen by many Chinese moving back to their family farms.
As for the Euro, after a week in S.Ireland, you can keep it. Couldnt even afford to have a meal out, the prices were soooo dear, and I changed my money last year when the £ was strong.

On the bright side, even with the pound so low, France and Spain are still good options for motorhomers - diesel, wine and aires are cheaper than here - what else do you need?

up this morning by 2 cents ...middle price 1.09

a lot of the movement is due to the professionals driving the price ....if it changes , they can make money ; they don't care whether it moves up or down , if there is movement , there is profit to be made , it forces business to take a position

and that's like shoplifting , who actually pays in the end ? you don't need me to answer that , do you !
