I don’t normally start threads due to being fairly new to the site but....a retired mate of mine who worked in the motor trade all his life bought a Ford based Chausson similar to ours around the same time (2 years ago). He asked me if I’d seen the drainage system from the wiper gulley and showed me a modification he’d done. I’ve just spent the last couple of days doing the same thing!
Lift the bonnet and look at the drainage channels diverting water to a direct drop between the inner and outer wing panels!
Ford in their infinite wisdom thought diverting water from wiper gullies both sides down into channels which drip into the void between inner and outer wing skins was the way to go!
The problem is they stuff plastic coated expanded foam packs between these inner and outer wing skins saying that they reduce road noise
.
Net result water wicks down to the ground between inner and outer skins slowly rotting them both from the inside out! Take them out. I promise there is no appreciable increase in road noise.
Anyone needing the mod get in touch.![Thumbs up  👍](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f44d.png)
