Just wondering if we can fit it in. The one stage that might fit into our itinerary is Mont Ventoux on the 22nd of July. I can't find a route map yet though. Does anyone know when they come out? We will be about a month into our summer trip by then taking in Jura, Annecy and the French Alps before heading further south to Provence so it could work out. I know a cracking wild spot below the northern face of Ventoux also so plan to travel to the stage on the scooter but need to know the route.

Full team going from here.

Normally announce the route mid April, we managed two stages last year our first for a decade and loved every bit again so will definitely plan something for 2026

Only time we saw it was when it came to Yorkshire. That was a brilliant day so Mont Ventoux should be pretty special.

Get there several days early, normal mountain stages we arrive 2-3 days before the stage and we are never the firstView attachment 139276

Our view last year and we had enough snow to chill the gin and whisky

My plan is to go on the bike. I know you see lots of motorhomes parked up on the actual route in all sorts of precarious positions but my idea was to park up a few miles away and go up on the day on the bike which is why when it comes out the route plan will be useful as there are three routes to the top. It also means I can make a quick getaway. When it came to Yorkshire we almost managed to see it in two locations. We saw it come through Reeth and then flew over to Leyburn to catch it there but we weren't quite fast enough. :D The queues to get out of Leyburn though afterwards were miles long. Not a problem on the scooter of course.

If you’re going out in June and you like motorsport take in the LeMans 24 race, it’s a hell of a weekend and lots of camping opportunities. :)

This year they closed the road 8 hrs before the stage and were only allowing pedestrians and cyclists but the police were making them push ther bikes as so many people there on the col du galibier

8 hours? I always heard the French were pretty good at closing them as late as possible but I guess on a Mountain stage that could be an issue if they dont. Will have to pick a spot carefully then. Walking and cycling is not an option. :D

If you can believe googles AI generally all three routes up the mountain are closed on the day of the race unless you go up on foot or on a "bicycle". Might have to catch it in one of the nearby towns or do as originally suggested and camp out on the mountain days in advance. Will just have to see nearer the time.

we always pick a parkup on the accent nr the top the afternoon before or earlier if like you mention Mont Vonto which from memory don't have much parking and the TdF website is good for the stages

Yep Mont Ventoux would be a poor choice I think in the van. There is some parking below the summit at Chalet Reynard but not much. It will be stacked. Pyrenees would be better or the Alps but I don't think the timing would be right. Ill work something out.
