Got a letter from the Caravan Club - Pet Insurance (Devitts) with renewal information for my dog Tizzy 
I'm not a member of the CC (was a member in the early '80's for a year) & have never had a pet of any kind (except maybe a goldfish ) What is more disturbing is along with the renewal is all the details such as sort code & bank account details (not mine) I rang the number to tell them of their mistake, the girl I spoke to was at a loss to explain what has happened, so I was called back a few times. They insisted that they had sent documents to my address, they say I had phoned them (one of the calls was last March when we were in Portugal) they said that they always do a security check when people call with at least 2 checks such as date of birth, full address etc........ This 'other' person supposedly has the same birthday as me, I know now he has a wife called Edith & he did even tell me the car they had (some type 4x4 probably for pulling his caravan)
Just had a call back from them while I was tryping this & this is the explanation........ It appears there is a flaw in the system, I did request a motorcycle quote from Devitts & because my first/last name & date of birth were the same it seems that the system considered that me & the other guy were the same person & it corrupted the database. Whilst my name isn't uncommon what must happen with all the Jones/Smiths/Davis etc............... there surely must be loads of them with the same christian names & birthdays.
I was thanked for telling them & he said it has pointed out a major flaw in their system (did ask if I was going to get anything for highlighting this well worth a try but told no.)
