Goa and India

03.01.2010. We will be in Goa, India, until 03.03.2010. We will be in Goa for the first month. Fly to Calcutta for a week, Delhi for 4 days, Agra for 2 days, Bombay for 4 days, then back to Goa for the rest of the time. We done Goa this year, (same dates as above) covered the south of India. Now we intend to cover the North. 30 to 40 degrees. Water temp: 30 to 32 degrees. If you guys want me to post a couple of pics from Goa, just shout.

A few shots of the beaches in Goa. If you want the high life, drugs, booze, pickups and parting and anything along those lines, beaches on the north end of Goa is fine. The sound end where we were, is really peaceful and relaxing. Evenings, there are certain places you can enjoy without getting boisterious.

Hi John, Leave your Van at home, pack your bags and take your lady with you to an experience worth spending a few bucks on. You won't regret it. Oh !! before I forget, get your own suitcase. Mine is packed and ready to go. I ain't got no spares.

If you`re looking for a quiet time, Dartmoor is lovely on crisp winter days! We`re going for x-mas!

I agree. Went up there one christmas. Unusally the snow came down and we woke to a white vita christmas morning. Went for a lovely walk then decdied to get off the Moors - good decision as the nextday we heard they had to airlift folks off the moors as even more snow came down :eek: A near miss for us............ but it was wonderful up there and we love being in remote places, especially for NY.

Remote places! That`s exactly what we will have over x-mas on Dartmoor. We have just got back from Cheriton Bishop where we had a wooden clad mobile home, looking like a log cabin, as self-catering accommodation on a livery farm. It had panoramic views over Dartmoor from the sitting room and the small patio area, infront. There we sat every evening, had dinner and enjoyed the most glorious sunsets over the moor! That`s where we are hoping to spend x-mas, just the two of us and our cat Salem.

Which part of Goa are you going to. South or North. We are spending 3 months in South Goa, the village is called Benaulim, Colva and Varca are neighbours to the left and right of Benaulim. We fly out 2 Jan and return 3rd April.

Goa

We haven't booked yet, as we are in Spain at the moment, probably book next month, the north looks ok, don't want to much happening but don't want it as quiteas it is here. If you have any reccomendations thats would be good,we are hoping to go for 4 or 5 weeks around Feb time, but anytime is ok for us. Enjoy !

Went to Southwold last year as Aldeburgh don't want us anymore! Stopped by the Warbleswick Ferry, another van turned up and also left some fireworks off. Only downside was pub was shut due to private party!!

Hi Julie, Book 2 weeks in the North and 2 weeks in the South. The north side is Baga beach, Anjuna where the big market is, Calangute, Candolim and a few others. This is where party animals and usually the young go. It is more pricy than the south. The south beaches are Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Palolem and few others. Quieter, although they do have music and films and a whole lot of restaurants under the stars. Prices are cheaper than the north. Margoa is the main city for the south and Panjim (Panaji) for the North.
I have no idea how to PM, hence an open letter here.
