Any tips for Croatia?

We are thinking of going to Croatia for the first time and used to staying overnight on aires in Europe.
How strictly is the wild camping rule enforced? There seem to be some suggestions of places on WEBSITE BLOCKED BY ADMIN but also some warnings about aggressive villagers.
Campsites either look expensive or run down?

Has anyone got any advice about travelling around the country?

Any tips or suggestions would be more than welcome

I‘ve driven there for work in a van numerous times, lovely place with no rear issues.

Novi vinodolski is simply lovely, on my first trip in 2000? there was an issue something connected with Nazism that I didn’t understand or get involved with, but drove there every year up to 2019 before Covid wrecked the 2020 job.

Hi,
Some of the stopping places we used on one of our trips to Croatia.
Just cut and paste the coordinates into google maps.

Tip no. one, take plenty of money it's no longer cheap. It does however have possibly the most beautiful coast in the whole of europe, coast also continues into Montenegro that is slightly cheaper and has an Italian flavour and uses the Euro. Oysters are excellent. Wildcamped for a week without incident.
