Ecxellent job

Hi there, the van looks great ,superbley finished ,it has the american RV look to me but i would not like to put a price on it.Take it to a motorhome dealer and get some ideas of the price from them, cheers Shawbags.

Is it haunted? Not sure I could sleep in it knowing what may have happened in the back - I
am kind of wimpy that way.:help:

The Mileage will put people off and considerably reduce its value.

In fact there's nothing wrong with a commercial vehicle that has done 172,000, they are built to do that and more. But most buyers are pretty ignorant. They like low mileage cars and extend the same to motorhomes. Generally they get to be satisfied, because most motorhomes sit on peoples drives 90% of the year and only do 3 or 4 thousand miles a year.

Regardless of the truth, that's the market which will determine the price, even if it's an ignorant one, so be prepared to get offered considerably less than its actual worth.

Have to agree here! Being ex trade and building my own, the biggest mistake I made was trying to save money by buying a cheaper base vehicle. Like yourselves, I thought a high mileage van would be fine, providing that there is a trace-able service history, however even though I kept the servicing up by paying for a garage (so that the trace would continue), it still put buyers off.
The thing you have on your side is the quality of conversion, which I must say is impressive. So my suggestion is to cost the build up (what you paid for the van and build costs), stick say 19% on top of that. What I did is then take 5% off for every year I used it as a motorhome!! I sold a 51 plate Vauxhall Movano (same base vehicle, just a different badge) with 117,000 on the clock and got my asking price which was £8995.00. I would think your's could easily get that!!

Good luck anyway :)

There's quite a good range on E Bay at the moment if you type in ex ambulance. In my opinion yours will have very specific appeal due to the lack of seating, firmly making it a two birth. However it is beautifully done out and I would put it very much on a par with the one on E Bay where they are asking for £5000. It didn't get it first time and has been relisted.

I agree with nicknclair, its a good conversion, don't give it away, you should be advertising for much more, if it doesn't go first time try again and then adjust. its worth holding out for I think anyway

With the amount of time and money i would imagine has gone into building this van there is no way i would let it go for £5000,as i have already said it looks superbly done and if it was on a dealer forecourt i would have said it would be priced around to the £10,000 mark.
In saying that there is the issue of the mileage but it would not put me off if you had exstensive service history with the van and the fact it was an ambulance in it former life it would have to have been well serviced, remember this is not the rihght time of year to get the best price, cheers Shawbags.
