Hard life ....

Headed off for another couple of days to make the most of Bank Holiday weekend ...
Might get used to this (had a bit of a hiatus since last October with one thing and another )

Anyway ...weather has been a up and down BUT nice and sunny today ...
Only one other caravan on site ...so lovely and peaceful
Dogs have had lots of tennis ball chasing in the long grass
And ice cream van has just visited so we've ALL had ice creams.

Looks nice, one thing iv been told is dont give any cows milk to cats or dogs, does there liver in.
Small amounts at a time relative to the size of the dog is ok Trev. Dogs are lactose intolerant but in moderation its fine.
My lab used to love an ice cream on a hot day.
Signs to look out for if you have given to much are diarrhea, and bloating, but even then so long as you don't keep overdosing no real harm is done.
Small amounts of dairy food are actually beneficial for a dog, but if unsure seek advice.

Love the dogs by the way, miss mine. :(

I drove past you yesterday on my way back from a night in Butterton (£6). How much is it a night on there,I've cycled by many times and always fancied it for a base to cycle from? There's another site at the bottom of the lane on your left that looks nice too. I popped in to ask yesterday, that is £15 a night. Oops, don't know what happened with all the quotes there.

£10 a night ...
24 hour toilets up at the visitor center on the trail .

My daughter's dog Suzy (German Shepard/Collie cross) used to go across the street on her own when the ice cream van arrived, as soon as she heard the music she opened the door and went out, he always gave her a big cornet and she held it in her mouth until she was back indoors, she lived to a good age for a big dog without any health issues

Im told the lactose free milk you can buy in tesco etc is ok for cats and dogs, a fraction of the price of stuff you buy at pet shops.

Terry we had a dog that was similar regarding the ice cream van but as soon as it heard the chimes of the van it used to howl and rush out to it and if there was any kids waiting it used to gently move them out the way to get a cornet!

A friend of mine kept a pub in Loughborough and he owned a Black Labrador called Murphy who was famous in the town.

Not only would he go to the ice cream van but he would also wonder around certain restaurants and hang around outside because he knew he would get fed. He caught buses for free out to the villages and then back home later and even muscled in when the mayor was interviewed in the local park for a TV news item. The mayor told the interviewer "Don't worry about him, that's just Murphy out on one of his adventures".

A dog we had would walk over a mile to the butchers. Nancy the butcher would give her a bone and she would walk back home growling at anybody or anything they even looked at her.
