Not content with having two new batteries and 4 new tyres and a day at the repair shop, finalising the great step replacement saga, this week, we were back at the tyre fitters for torque and pressure checks.
After the 2 miles return journey, I found out that a headlight bulb has blown.
It's blowing a cold, wet Hooley and we have the heating on.
I've just Youtubed a video on how to change a Trafic light.
Jenny says it's do simple, even she can understand it.
My question is....
How can I get her outside the van to do it ?
Luckily we still have the spare folding step, so that shouldn't be a problem.

It may go against the Yorkshire instinct, but I’d be tempted to head for Halfords and get them to do fit it for under £10.

place a bottle of red wine outside with screwdriver and written instruction on how to find the corkscrew it is hidden behind the light ahem whilst your their please change the bulb thanks

She hasn't got £10 to spare, Bill.
If all else fails, I'll lend her the money.;)

Nice idea, Young Hippy, but I'd have to go out and unscrew the bulb myself. I could then change the bulb and drink the wine myself..
There's merit there.

then whilst she changing the bulb drink the red wine and tell her she took to long so you had to drink the red wine to stop it spoiling after you found the corkscrew elsewhere and decided to open it to let it breathe

Halford changed one of my bulbs in my old transit. It was £6.50 to do it back then. BUT they broke the unit and it cost them £180 for a new light... Bonus for me...

I didn’t realise Halfords charged to change them so must be many years since I let them, then again I think it may have been first wife and they probably don’t charge women, ho hum :)

The payback results of a decent Indian curry takeaway should get her out of
the door.

So.... I'll go there, show them your post, then tell them to give me £150 and a bulb... And do the job myself... Saving them £ 20 +.
Best suggestion, so far.

There's no way that I'm going to put a frock and stilettos on, to test your theory, Neil.
Mind you... Mmmmm ? Wouldn't cost much to try?

Don’t be silly now, get Jenny to leave you at 5ge pub while she tests it :)

Then again, whatever seems good

Never thought I'd ever congratulate Halfords for customer service.
Drove up, asked at the desk, telling them that I didn't feel confident about extracting the connection plug, as it was tight. 3 minutes later, a young guy came out and completed the job in under 2 minutes.. No charge. Didn't even have to buy a bulb.
Even turned down my offered fiver, " To buy you a pint ".
That's the first time in 28 years of vehicle ownership, that we've had to change a headlight bulb.

Just keep following my advice 😃
