Another Leisure battery question

Hi all, on my way to Scotalnd last week I discovered my leisure battery is not charging. I have a wiring diagram that came with the van and have traced the problem to the to fact the wires are not connected to the main battery, well one is.

My question is, I have a brown & blue wire (I am assuming this belongs to the LB) the blue is connected to the neautral does the brown connect to the same one or should it be on the live terminal:confused:

Thanks

Hi Lyn,
Please DON'T connect the brown wire to the same terminal the blue wire is on, not unless you like sparks and melted wires.
Chances are the brown wire is the positive wire and should be connected to the positive terminal marked '+' on the battery.
Who disconnected it and why, is a question you might want to ask. It maybe just a case that someone didn't want the battery to drain, or there was a problem with the charging system?

Hi Lyn
If you are not familiar with electrics, even 12 volts, or cant use a multimeter, its much safer to to have a word with someone who is, and can get on site to see what is what. Its very difficult to determine what is what and what goes where. My suggestion for what its worth, is to have a word with someone who could have a quick look, or maybe the garage who services it, as long as they don't see this as an opportunity to grab loot. Or, maybe even a photo or several that you could post. You can to considerable damage to 12 volt systems, especially if for some reason they are not fused systems.

Thanks for the replies. The wire has just come off when I have removed the battery to recharge it. I was told the wire was an auxillery but they didn't know what and I thought maybe the radio. Now I have found the diagram I know it's the leisure battery. It has always charged ok before & I have never had any problems with it, until now! lol

The blue wire is attached to a proper connector but the brown must have been 'pinched' in between the nuts:eek: (sounds painfull! lol) so I just need to connect to right side as I have just paid out a fortune on a new battery for her.

Thanks again, will let you know how I get on.
