am I going to get hassled if I airbrush my van?

Hi folks

currently I have a tattoo design painted on the front of my little van (pix in my website, http://wondervan.weebly.com) But I wanted to paint some more designs along the side. slogans like "seek joy" "have fun" "love" etc...all in a nice flowery hippyesque type style.

But I was wondering if that kind of thing would attract undue attention from cops etc? We are not going to be doing anything illegal or carrying any contraband, but I don't want to be hassled as if we were.

what do you think?

i agree with vindiboy try to blend in ,i do ha ha, but seriously much better to be a plain van . it pays in the long run . specialy if you free camp.

Our Van is custom painted (by us!)

Our dear old Hymer eriba caravan-33 yrs when we sold and still going well, was very "hipped" and even more so now as the girls who have him now, have added more flowers etc.

The inside!

I do have some better outside shots (many more flowers, plus insects etc.)but this one is not long after we got him

We found it did put smiles on faces-such a change for boring white box caravans, I also would added solar powered fairy lights at night! Not sure everyone on Caravan Club sites thought it was so go but hell, it was mine and paid for.

Our hymer motorhome has a few flowers on the outside and some of those lovely cushions have found their way inside along with the bat (did you spot the bat?), and some hippy throws.

Enjoy yourself and have a great trip! I am counting the days for our big trip!

sometimes its not that you get moved on, but you could make other people aware that campers stop where you did. then the next person gets moved on. to be honest here in cornwall ther as been so much hassle by hippy vans (isay that friendly)that locals are fed up with them staying too long ,now all vans can get moved on. the eclipse of the sun a few years back vertually put an end to the best park places as they stayed around for months. white van stands alot better chance than multi-coloured vans . think stealth . personaly i never use camp sits .so have noticed this over many years .
cheers alan.

HMOG  I'd need a No12 welding lense to live with your interior :D

Nice one

Low profile is the way to go IMHO. A matt black transit towing a 22 foot chrome caravan is not the way to avoid attention...

LOVE! the inside of your van, I wish we had the space to do the same.
I think time will decide the question of whether I paint or not..or the lack of it, a little over a week to go for our big trip and so much still to do!
