Alternative to MS Autoroute for trip planning?

I just realised my old 2013 version of Autoroute which I used to use quite a lot back in the day for Euro trip planning is not installed on this laptop and it will be a PIA to dig it out and install it.

Trying to find an alternative that can be used offline in the same way. Probably wont be too much of an issue now as most of the time we will have an internet connection so google maps etc will be fine.

Not interested in phone apps. Got to work on Windows 11 and got to work offline.
I loaded it onto Merlins laptop, I can send the Dropbox link to your WhatsApp if you like.

I do enjoy doing some planning before a trip, even if there's little chance I'll stick to the plan. I just like mucking about with routes n maps.
I use wikiloc for tracks, and then google maps for most the planning I want to do. Very rarely if ever plan night stops, only time I did was when planning a convoy of 6 vehicles to Croatia. Won't be doing that again. :ROFLMAO:

When we first went touring in Hank 1 in 2008 I did some planning before we left but not much. We ping ponged around France and Europe for three months and made a right hash of it. It was a great first trip but we missed so much. Internet was extremely difficult then on the move. I vowed after that to become more like my dear old Dad and do a proper job. Having the internet albeit at times still tricky was a massive boost.

Ill nearly always plan stops in the van though unless its just a short one nighter then I don't care. We tend to park up for a while and use the bike so Im a bit fussy where we stay. Planning routes to tour and see though, especially on the bike is well worth doing and rewarding. The more I do before we leave the easier it is but we always go off piste once we get somewhere. The plans are never kept to 100%.

Cheers. Yes Merl mentioned it to me but I didn't want to bother you on your trip. If you could email it to me that would be better but whichever is easier. Whatsapp is fine. Your a good lad Kev. I don't care what everyone else says.

Kev (Pudsey) saves the day! Set up all the compatibility options before opening it and set to autorun as administrator and hey presto! Not tested it in anger yet. Autoroute 2013.

Not really because now I have an offline resource where I can load all the bang up to date Aires, parking spots etc from CC Infos and see at a glance whats along my route. Only trouble is right now I am struggling to get all the symbols to work but that is just a mere technical problem to be resolved which of course is something I can do!! :D

I am still using Autoroute 2007 wouldn't go with out it, I would love to get a later copy though If you could do a copy of your one I would appreciate it

Metz is one of my fav city stops. Half tempted to stop off there on way back from Germany.

Easiest thing would be to speak to Kev (Pudsey) as its his link I used. Its 2.5gb so too big to email but he might give you his dropbox link if you ask nicely. :D

I wouldn't mind this as well, I have always admired Kev (is that his name?)
