Algae growth in seams

What is best to get rid of small amount of algae growth in some seams of my Hymer motorhome? It is a 1997 on a Ducato chassis.

Any advice please?
 
hi , i always used to use a good motorcycle cleaner , very good stuff .
 
Soap and water then a polish will sort out your algae problem.

Dont use pressure washer.

Pin striping have a look in the local area for a detailing firm, if they are any good they would be able to overlay the decals.
 
I used a very dilute bleach solution in a hand sprayer, left it on for a couple of hours and washed it off, seemed to work. The bleach killed off the algae.

Had a similar problem with bacterial growth in my windscreen washer bottle, it created a slime that blocked the pump filter, usually at the most inopportune moments!!

I removed the bottle and immersed in a strong bleach solution, having taken the pump off first!

Then a combination of small gravel being shaken inside followed by a long artists brush to scrub any remaining muck off the walls.

Hopefully that's cured it.
 
Thanks Bigpeetee for this tip - I thought my washer pump had "gone" - struck a little bit of bleach in the tank and the next day the full spray is back.


I will rinse the tank though now just to get all the bleach out

had the same problem,algae growing in my seams,but after the wife put me in the shower and scrubbed me down with a yard broom, i look a lot better
