Al-Ko Manual steadies.

I have for sale, 2 Al-Ko bolt on steadies that we have taken off our motorhome. They are both in perfect working order, complete with the winding handle.
They cost approx £300 new, and I would accept any offer around £80..they would need to be collected, or maybe we could arrange a meeting place somewhere convenient to both parties.

Approximately where are you in the UK? Very interested - I'm in Ipswich, Suffolk

Pardon me for asking but how does what you have differ from these Al-Ko manual steadies at around 80 quid new?

Not meaning to offend, just puzzled as I am considering steadies, but still think £160 for all 4 corners may be too much for me!

I am not 'techie'..Have a look on the Al-Ko website at the manual steadies. They bolt on to Al-Ko chasis. You would not need 4 for a motorhome, they just needed on the back if you have an overhang behind the back axle, and they wind down with a handle when needed. Maybe others on here can be more informative...Hope this helps.

I've just looked at your link, they are nothing like what Ive got...I think Al-Ko Mechanical Steadies will get you to the right items

I am tempted but I am nowhere near you to collect (Bedfordshire)

Must be coincidence I've just taken mine off and painted them with black smoothrite and then refitted them, they were looking a bit rusty - how come you don't use them if parked up for a while

First of all, we rarely park up for long periods, so don't usually bother winding them down, and as we dont have much overhang behind our back axle, the steadies don't make such a big difference. Possibly the most important reason is that we are always 'sailing close to the wind' regarding our weight limit.,.we are fully loaded with satellite dish, solar panel bike rack and electric bikes and their batteries, or hubbies disability scooter....so decided that taking off the steadies would give us weight capacity for a couple more cases of wine on our return journey from the continent...the decision was a 'none brainer'. .

Perhaps we could arrange a mid-way meeting point. We are at Huntingdon all weekend, returning home along the A14 Monday morning....depending on where in Bedfordshire you are..maybe we could meet.:D
