Just found the website for Aire Driveways UK and wonder, before I pay £10 to become a member, whether anyone else is a member or whether it's all too new to be useful.

Am I allowed to add the web address?

Hi the fact its run from a PO Box and they don't give any indication of how many participating members that have would put me off.

On top of that I believe the agreement is that in return for being able to stay on someones drive you allow others to park on your drive, whose vetting these people, what insurance checks are carried out, Are they giving out your address to people when they know you might be away

Mind you waking up and seeing this out of the window would be funny

I think if I had to resort to parking on someones driveway I wouldnt bother, just find a CL.

But there are driveways and driveways. Mine, for instance, well it's a tree lined avenue, half a mile long, with views over the rolling countryside, sheep in the fields in the far distance, wild flower meadows closer to...

Cant even get mine on the drive so it would be no good for me, And anyway imagine waking up one morning and AJ was parked up waitng for his breakfast dressed like that, For those who dont know him hes the one in the shorts.

I am quite willing to allow people to park on my drive if I'm here, I am listed on the MCC Safe Knight's where members allow other MCC members to park overnight for free.
I don't like the idea of me paying a tenner to allow other people to park on my drive, also if somebody is paying for this then they might expect more than just being able to stop overnight. In the example listing it says
'We can provide electric for overnight stays at a rate of £5 per night.' £5 for a nights electric & also illegal I believe to sell electricity. How would your neighbours like you setting what is effectively a campsite on your drive, how would you stand as regards insurance etc..........

No its a bad idea & it has been running for quite a while & it says there are 135 memberships for free (one for each county how many counties are there ) you have to pay your tenner & if you are the first then you get your money back.

From Wiki Answers There are the traditional 92 counties
- 39 in England
- 13 in Wales
- 34 in Scotland
- 6 in Northern Ireland

Didn't read all of it as it says 'one year free membership to the first member from every county or listed large town' so there might be 135

Hi Kontiki,
quite right about resale of electric, but the club sites can do it, and get away with it. Some sites you have to pay, even if you don't need it.
Can you imaging joining this "Club" and stopping over on a drive on the busy roads of say Birmingham or Manchester
What will people do next?

HELLO....ITS THREADRIKAY here,

Threads are allowed to deviate on 3 occasions per fred, after the third fred violation the fred freder will be referred to the fred refredder, that being myself as threaderater, asuitable fred will then be allocated,or more than one should the fred be deemed suitable to more than one fred.
Any appeals, should the fred fredder be unhappy with the refredding list will be invited to submit his own 3 freds which the fredder deems most suitable for refredding.
The refredding fred, refredding commitee will then after due consideration either ammend its original fred refredding list, or insist upon its implication of its original refredding fred list.

There is no further appeal after this process.
