Aire Conditions

Hello All, hope everyones enjoying the sun! :)

I was wondering if there were any conditions for using the aires in france with regards to the number of van windows, my partner and I are soon to be the proud owners of a little nissan cargo, the van comes with two windows on the rear doors, we would have liked to put another in on the side, however being young, the insurance companys will almost double our premium as it is considered to be a modification. So we were looking to just stick to the two at the back, would this hinder our chances of using the european (more secifically french) aires? any feed back would be greatly appreciated!!! Many thanks!

Have used French aires extensively over the years and seen many vans of the type you describe - no-one has ever suggested they can't stop.

Same as John H - have used Aires many many times and seen all sorts of vans using them with no problems.

Hi.
Same possitive answere, also with UK registration everyone will know you are a tourist and make you welcome. I cycled to Louhans this morning along the towpath, I counted 24 motorhomes parked up at the aire there. Not a Brit in sight to have a chat with.:( Would have been nice to see someone like yourself parked up.:)
Bonne Route.

Aww what great news!!! Just tops off the perfect day, got our van checked over by the garage and they said it was a little beaut!!! Will post the conversion pictures up here as and when we progress, our plan is to leave gb this summer and tour europe for as long as funds will allow, we will send you all details of any wildcamping spots we come across on our travels to thank all of you for the great info you provide!! :) Once again many thanks!!!
