Air suspension

In an attempt to achieve a more relaxing drive I’m considering fitting air bags to my Ducato based Motorhome (Knaus Sky Ti). I’m sure many of you will have done this to your vans and I was just looking for the pros and cons you’ve found after fitting. Also any recommendations for kits or are the eBay £275 jobs ok.

Take it easy on me, it’s my first post.

Thanks

Neil

I fitted these to the last Motorhome and the present Motorhome, and found them to be a great improvement on the ride height and handling on corners and roundabouts, especially as both being on Merc sprinter based, as sprinter rear suspension is very soggy.
But if you are hoping to get a softer air ride feel then these won’t do it, as the are more of an assistant, to get the smoother ride then you will need to go for full air suspension but then you will need to dig very deep into your pockets

Best thing we did for our Bessacarr which had previously been a tin full of nuts and bolts whenever we drove over anything bigger than a cigarette dimp. Handling was much improved, sound deadening vastly improved and a higher ride.
I fitted them myself in a half day and I am no mechanic.

I have put some on, a piece of cake to fit and they make a big improvement, Well worth it.

I can agree with all of the above. Fitted to my X250 they ensure the arse-end remains nice and firm despite being well over 3.5tonnes and replated to 4.1t. Splendid easy ride without any like;i hood of wallowing. Don’t just think about it, do it.
