Hi folks. We put our van in for its annual service three weeks ago in the hope that it would be ready for a holiday this week but unfortunately we're having to wait for a replacement/repaired air suspension unit which we are told have a four week turnaround from alko, and that the van would not be driveable in the meantime - goodbye holiday! I asked if it would be possible to replace the air suspension with bumper stops just to allow us to get away but we were advised against that. Any solutions to our problem would be very gratefully received!

What van, what air suspension, any other info that might be useful. I am pretty useless with the spanners but even I could change my rangerovers air suspension , front strut is about 6 bolts excluding wheel nuts. 1.5 hrs work max.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'll look into buying a new one. We have an Autosleeper Windrush 2014 plate based on a Peugeot boxer van with alko air top rear suspension.

2014 It hasn't lasted very long I assumed it would be older than that to have failed has the repairer returned it under warranty. Makes you wonder how long a life to expect from air suspension units

Still waiting to hear if it will be repaired under warranty. I'd be very disappointed if was not, and yes, the prospect of buying new units every two years doesn't appeal. Lets hope it's a one off!

Apart from being quicker, if you buy a new unit and have it repaired, you'll have a spare one.
