Just a quick question folks. Previous post about a broken passenger seatbelt, water dump valve broken and fridge lock broken.Well first decent wild trip out so using our sink shower etc. Noticed the waste valve outside leaks when closed. Its a nice design, a tap, connecting rod to a butterfly valve. Nice design but too complex for the same job as a simple tap and valve. Ho hum. So that's fault 5 on a 9,000 mile motorhome ive had just over a month. Ive emailed the dealer but surprise surprise havnt heard back. Ill email again. I was informed it can be taken to any Adria dealer much like with cars. They are going to have a look at Marquis down the road from me which will cost £60 and then let me know whats what and how long it will take to fix then ill email the dealer I bought it from. If this does turn out to be a Friday built motorhome is their any legal comeback into returning it and getting my money back? To be honest its actually a bloody good motorhome, I love it but these faults keep coming and something that cost £43000 should be better. It has some sort of Insurance based warranty for a year so ill contact them aswell. Oh well, best get things sorted before any warranty runs out.

Sorry to hear about your problems Mick but you just reminded me why I did buy new.Idone a self build 6years ago and nothing has failed up to now .Good look mate

My new Pilote had a handle you pulled to release the waste tank.
The dealer mentioned it was crap for want of a better word and they blank it off and fit big bore pipework and a valve. Have to say it’s brill, empties the 100 litre waste tank in seconds. You can still see the original handle that released the waste tank to the left of the valve.

If its a used m/h then buy law you have six mth to reject or repair, all motorhomes will have faults small or large as there hand made where as cars are all of the one automatic line and tested to death.

New coach built motorhomes will always have some issues regardless of the cost .as they are made by humanoids not robots .

Thanks all. As for the repairs, the seatbelt I have no doubt is a stuck ball bearing inside the mechanism, ive stripped em before. Easy fix but shouldn't happen. The trim is a nothing, fixed in 2 mins. The two bits of design I just dont get is the waste drain valve. Why put a arm to turn on and off, connect it to a long thin bar that connects to the butterfly valve inside a waste pipe.Just like on a carb on a car. It just makes it to complicated for no reason than to look trick. Just do as described above on the Pilote, just fit a damm valve like described earlier. The dump valve, yes I get its a nice idea. Inside water tank, inside valve to avoid seizing up in winter and allowing various fills. But its weakly built and too complicated for its own reason. Its got sensors to tell me how full it is. A simple overflow and dump tap like I had onmy old Elddis. It just seems esign for the sake of design. If it wasn't under warrenty id remove the tank and fit a simple valve. The fridge, again its just too flimsy, nice design just too flimsy.

Nice idea about the six month return. What pi££es me off is if the fixes take months I need it for my hobby, travelling and taking pictures. Then again it allows me to poke fun at the missus as she wanted me to sell the Elddis that worked %100 ok. But it was analogue in a digital world but that's not always a bad thing as in this case. Then again my neighbour has an Elddis and its been in more times than enough but again, its a new one not like mine 2007.

My Adria had a similar waste water arrangement which broke in first few time of use I replaced with a pipe an valve just like OB's.
As your van isn't new I don't think you can expect another adria dealer to repair it I've heard that they're not keen anyway as Adria or any other maker don't pay a great rate to them for warranty repairs and insurance warranty is usually to the engine and drive
