hi how do you pay for your german breakdown cover having problems with it ,
how do you know that the cover has started.
been sent a membership card & a payment slip, do i just take it to to bank & pay it.
thank.

Hi reberto,

You pay on a debit or credit card and they give your membership number over the phone and the paper work takes about a week .Cover starts from payment I had no problems at all.

Hi Roberto

I wasn't given the option to pay by credit card but like you received the bank form. on the form/payment slip they ask you to fill in the membership number they have given you that's on the card. Below I will list the other details.

cover starts from when you ask to be a member they then send you the bank slip, fill in and return but don't worry you are still covered whilst payment is returned.

ps.. if you breakdown in the UK it's the AA that comes out to you, a service that you've paid half for......... not a bad deal eh ?
 
as soon as they give you a membership number you are covered.

Worth keeping in mind with ADAC is that you membership is renewed EVERY year automatic (if you have paid or not) and you need to cancel 2 or 3 month before your year ends if you want to go elswhere.
 
I applied for membership last week. Part filled in the form, but then couldn't pay online, so I emailed amanda.moser-wickles@sby.adac.de - an email that I got from another post one here to say that I wanted to join - a very helpful guy rung me back the next morning, & I was able to pay by visa over the phone. He then rang me back later with membership number & other details. Just waiting now for the cards through the post, which he said would take about a fortnight.
 
I emailed Amanda a couple of weeks ago and within two days i got a call from them and was a member within minutes, paid by credit card & given membership number and recieved card/paperwork in 4 days.

Now i`m a happy chappie.
 
ADAC tel number in UK

I joined too last month - a really good deal. I seem to remember on here some time ago there was a uk phone number that could be used in a breakdown rather than calling Germany - perhaps it is direct to AA. Does anyone know these details please? Thanks

we had this discussion, but ring the GERMAN number. They speak english and the AA turns up faster than ringing the UK number

This is the number you need to use - I have written it on the reverse side of my card.

0800 028 9018

This will connect you to the AA European Breakdown Service who manage things on behalf of ADAC in the UK.

As an aside, do you know that you can call 0800 numbers from an Android phone within your call allowance? Try the 0800 Wizard app - free download from Google Play.
