A1 Chaos Newcastle

Just thought I,d warn you all who were thinking of using the A1 through Newcastle/Gateshead to give it a wide burst over the next 3 weeks, especially at peak hours.
There are roadworks going on and the carriageways will be reduced to 1 lane Southbound and 2 lanes Northbound with contraflows.
This is a notorious stretch of road at the best of times so these works could make it a nightmare.
To make it worse ,the Tyne Tunnel also has restrictions due to the construction of a new adjacent tunnel
