A Week in Cornwall, Ideas please

We've never been to Cornwall and are planning a week there in June.

Looking for ideas for a suitable itinerary to get a flavour of the county, but not spending all day traveling.

Love the coast and quiet, may use CS or wild.

Have an 8m x 3m hi MH, and have difficulty walking too far (a mile tops).

I realise that I cannot see everything the county has to offer, but guidance from locals or those in the know would help our little outing.

Thanks in advance.

hi pete. if you would like a place to park in central cornwall give me a shout . i live there have space for another camper to park. live near the clay area and can show you lots of places of interest.i also have difficulty walking so understand the problems you have. let me know . we could have lots of daytrips .have an 8 seater bongo ideal for trips around the district. or m,bikes . if you must. cheers alan.

Hi Bigpeetee, look at the post "Tin mines". Okay, forget the tin mines but you will see a lot of places you can visit while in Cornwall. To add a little more to it, take the coastal roads along, Porthtowan, Porthtreath, Hale and so on. A lot of spots for you to enjoy. You can even overnight on the cliffs and let the Ocean put you to sleep.

if you are into gardens then Trebah gardens are a must! Beautiful this time of year and gardens meander down to private beach. Wheelchairs can be used but need strong person to push backup the hill; beautiful fresh home cooked food in cafe-oldies day is wednesday! It is on road out of falmouth towards Mawnan Smith.
Also Maritime museum in Falmouth at events square-parking for motorhomes in big carpark is another interesting outing topped off by fish and chips at rick stein cafe next door.
Falmouth in June is lovely but don't go near it in august when its hell!!

As mentioned above, the Levant Mine is interesting and a great spot to spend the night. So good, I went back last night again. Photo in the Tin Mines thread.

Don't miss the Telegraph Museum at Porthcurno. You, especially, will enjoy it. I have now seen both ends of the cable.

Chris's list has lots of good spots for overnighting down here. Hope your weather is like today's...

Don't try and see it all at one go! The "wild" Cornwall is really the N.coast, say from St. Agnes down towards Lands End (but you can miss that out!). Plenty of wild spots but also NT owns large sections of coast and can frown on overnighting if you arrive too early on a coastal car-park. Take care on the narrow lanes near the coast, the soft-looking hedgerow is frequently hard rock and will rip through your tyre walls. Hope you have good weather, the sunsets can be stunning. Enjoy..

Pop in to Swan Pool, a few minutes drive from Falmouth. Large car park opposite. I think they charge now a days. Used to be free. Shallow waters if you have children to play around in the water. A small cafe is right on the beach.

Another beauty spot for the radio enthusiast is the Marconi Wireless Station on the Lizard.

There is also a ham station there if you are having withdrawal problems.

I haven't been yet, as I just learned about it, but will try and get there tomorrow. It is within walking distance from here.

You might also want to look at all the big dishes at Goonhilly Downs. Unfortunately, the visitors centre is now closed. I was lucky to get a personal tour with a friend who used to work there.

All of West Penwith is gorgeous but don't miss the coast road from St Ives to Land's End.
There is a lovely car park right above St Ives, afraid I can't remember the name but it has a grassy patch you can park on and just drink up the view (you have to pay tho)!
Enjoy
