A sad end

Thank God they all got out ok. I take it, the vehicle was Petrol engined?

I thought at first glance it was my old VW but the registration is different.

Glad you got out in time.

It looks to me like a petrol escape has ignited and has blown flames out of the rear ventilator.

There are a couple of rubber pipes on the fuel pump (mechanical) and they would be my prime suspect.

The exhaust on these VW s will run beyond red hot and into the orange when on a long hard run but a spark from the ignition could also be the the cause.

Hope you find another one, maybe time to move on to a T4?

It wasn't us - fortunately!

I came across the news report whilst browsing.
