As per title,we gets the van out of storage and whilst loading up and doing the usual checks on the tyre pressures realised they were getting low (the tread, not the pressure).Quick search online and KF offered the best deal.

Problem was ,nowhere could offer fitting before Friday and this was Wednesday and we were leaving on the Thursday.

Solution...booked and paid for online and booked a fitting slot on Friday pm in Aberdeen (we were getting the ferry Friday evening) so couldn't have set it up better really, out of the depot ,straight for ferry

Then the fun started.Van wouldn't fit in workshop. At this point thought i was just going to get a refund but no...the young lad gets on to the other Aberdeen branch, sorts out the fitting after we explained we needed it done pronto because of our ferry booking. So,new tyres in van, armed with directions from the branch manager and one hour later done and dusted.

These places get enough criticism but thought the service was fantastic.

My only gripe would be the booking software which perhaps should have not allowed me to book that depot since the other branch is the the 'van' depot by all accounts.

Good to hear they got it right in this occasion ...the "young lad " seems to have gone the extra mile god for him too ..And a happy customer nothing not to like

Channa

Took three goes to get through as well. Most places would have just processed a refund.I have been on to KF to ask them to pass on our thanks for his efforts.

He would have gained nothing for his efforts as the fitting branch will have gotten the fees

Never had a problem with Kwik fit and the guys are helpful and properly trained.

What kind of valves did they fit with the new tyres.

I have a mobile fitter coming on Thursday to fit two front tyres on the van and it says the price includes standard valves. Don’t imagine standard plastic valves would last long at the kind of pressure required.

If your wheels have metal bodied valves they should just leave them in situ.

Cheers

Unfortunately I have . My experience was the opposite of the OP . Branch said they couldn't take me (seemed obvious they could) and sent me to another branch . They also refused to take me .
Think with a lot of these big companies it's pot luck re staff attitude

I have also had a good experience with their mobile service.I ordered 4 new tyres for the motorhome online and they fitted them whilst on the drive.Quick, efficient and professional.

Can't say the same for the local branch when I took the car in for 2 new tyres though, took them 3 hours..........Kwik fit was a misnomer.:(
