PO Ferries t+C I see, so an under length vehicle booking would result in this min cost, which is a lot on a short trip, or return x 2, I fully fessed up for my Dover Calais booking :idea-007:

Fair enough I reckon,we all are aware of the terms and conditions when we book.I can't see the point in trying to diddle the ferry companies for the sake of a few quid.

Fair enough if you try it on and get caught out, or if you make a genuine mistake by making a typo when entering the reg number for example, you should have to pay a reasonable administrative fee, but this does seem rather excessive and akin to Michael O'Leary style profiteering. IMHO

Some years ago I was parked in the Ferry queue and looking in my mirrors I could see a WPC walking down the line. When she got to my bike on the trailer she seemed to pause for longer than usual. When she reached the drivers door I asked if everything was all right and she said "why wouldn't it be?". I showed her my badge and told her that one of my fellow bikers was in the Branch and had a very strange sense of humor and thought getting his mates searched was incredibly funny. "The thing is" she said "now I know I can't give you any preferential treatment"

Sure enough I was pulled into the security shed and my vehicle thoroughly searched from top to bottom .(including the panniers and top box on the bike.

I still don't know if it was down to my mate, but after that I never told him where I was going on holiday.
