Hi All

We're thinking of buying a camper from Lazy days near telford.

i can only find a couple of comments on here about them (doubtless there are a lot more but I cant find them all) but none of them are any good at all.

What experiences (good or bad) have people had with them?

are they a company to be trusted?

Thanks and merry christmas

Steph

We looked at a van at Lazy Days and the salesman suggested that we claimed for zero VAT although we did not meet the Disabled person criteria.
Would I trust them? NO!

Thanks to you both who replied.

we've been looking at a forest river there. any opinions on them?

In fairness to Lazy Days, at least they admit that they are cowboys. (Their branch is run on a western theme.). I do get the impression that they stack 'em high, but not necessarily sell 'em cheap. I saw a couple of vans there and was not at all impressed with their sales preparation. I also seem to recall a high profile court case where their proprietor was involved in some nastiness over the (non) sale of a house.

Personally I would be very wary of dealing with them, but like Brownhills, people must buy from them otherwise they would not still be in business, not all customers can be dissatisfied. They seem to prefer to specialise in American A class Rv's

We live not too far away and go every now and then for a nosey round to see what they've got in. I can't agree that they specialise in American A class because I've only ever seen a few there amongst many, many European MHs.

We have never bought from them but hubby and I are very interested in a nice RV they've got in stock (or did have, the last time we were there). Wanting to use the RV to live in and not wanting to go abroad for the winter we have hesitated about buying it because of the lack of winterization.

The poor reputation Lazy Days seem to have 'earned' would make us very wary and careful but wouldn't, necessarily, put us off altogether.

If they've got exactly the MH you're looking for it would seem to me only common sense to go ahead but proceed with extreme caution! I would do this with any dealer because they are probably all just as bad as one another (well, nearly all - I believe there is one exception to this rule).

As a matter of course we would never take as gospel anything any salesman said - sad, but safe. Check everything, get everything important in writing, dated and signed. Caveat emptor!

Presumably you were buying a new vehicle as the exemption only applies to them.
